2012 Mercedes SL - will have to live without the V12
We haven’t exactly had a glut of stories on the Merceds SL of late. In fact the last story appears to have been a spy shot of the 2012 SL back at the end of 2010. But that’s because the current SL is far from cutting edge and no longer the halo of the Mercedes range.
-- The Porsche 918 achieved a spectacular and borderline-unbelievable time just a few days ago, but here are some less heroic cars lapping the 'Ring, like Peugeot 205s, modern BMWs and a few bikes mixed in for good measure. A dark cloud hangs over the family of automotive enthusiasts who had enjoyed a sunny week of classic-car events on the Monterey Peninsula. AutoWeek has learned that Barry Meguiar, the self-described "car crazy" goodwill ambassador of the automotive hobby world and creator/host of the popular television show of the same, is in serious condition in the intensive care unit of Monterey Community Hospital. Details of his ailment were not released by the hospital.
